Following the www.ezinearticles.com article recently submitted, it reminded me of a story about a local restaurant. This fits the bill for this story exactly. It starts a long time ago.

Literally years ago an American country style hamburger family restaurant opened up. It was a really new idea at the time and became very successful. It was pretty much full for a lot of the time as far as I could see. It was decked out in memorabilia of American culture. It had an ambience no other eatery had.

It wasn’t just the decoration and the theme it was also the layout. The food was basic but good. The whole feel of the place made it iconic. You couldn’t put your finger on just why it was different but I always felt it had a certain uniqueness about it.

I’ve studied this hard over a long time. It occurs to me and is now obvious business only grows by a process. Profound, I know!

But the real issue is most businesses don’t have a process for their marketing. This is the difference. They will have detailed processes for practically everything else. The one thing they don’t have in place is one for just how the new business is going to come through their door.

This was brought home to me just the other night. On the news they had a clip about a manufacturing company in the midlands I think it was. This company had been around a long time. It had just had to close a pretty big manufacturing or engineering plant. The owner was shown standing in this vast but empty building. It was stripped of all its machinery and equipment and was eerily silent. They then interviewed the laid off long serving staff. It really was a very sad sight.

You will have been to seminars and presentations offering you the next best thing. You know you must have it. It all looks so promising. You do your level best to resist buying into what is on offer but the material presented is compelling you on to purchase.

Hello and welcome.

I’m just back from the funeral of my Aunt Betty today. She was 96. It’s funny but the funeral was pretty much a full house.

Why should that be odd you may well ask?

Well the answer is because she had no children of her own. Most of the congregation had their own families and they all came to duly pay the attention due to my aunt.

Why? Because she cared for people. Both her nearest family and then others outside.
