“You Can Follow In Their Foot Steps But You Cannot Walk In Their Shoes” (James Leslie)

If you have been searching for an answer to one of those life long questions You know the ones I am thinking about: the money ones.

You will have been to seminars and presentations offering you the next best thing. You know you must have it. It all looks so promising. You do your level best to resist buying into what is on offer but the material presented is compelling you on to purchase.

Right now with the world in financial turmoil people are looking for more ways to move themselves ahead financially. This is the good part. The unfortunate bit is what follows. It will hopefully explain just why thousands come out of a seminar hall and then simply cannot execute on what they have just learned.

The reason I am certain is this: You cannot walk in someone else’s shoes. Big deal so what does that mean and how does it help me? It means no one can ever directly walk in the very same steps as anyone else.

Why?

Because we are all unique individuals, that is why. In a similar way you cannot stand in the same place in a river. The water is the river and that is constantly flowing, and so the same water that passed down stream a second minute or hour ago is gone. It never will come back in the same way to wash past you, even if you stand on the riverbed in the exact same spot.

So let’s translate this into your own learning process. What you can do is to follow in someone’s footsteps though. Here is the defining difference: You can learn from teachers, masters, guru’s etc. You can find out exactly how they got started, what they did next, and the effect it had. The one thing is though, you cannot replicate precisely what they did.

So as the title of this article says you can follow what they do but you must make your own shoes to takes those steps to success for yourself. This I think is why so many become frustrated with lack of success. They believe in this ‘get rich quick’ and ‘business in a box’ idea for their future security. It’s understandable. No one wants to slave away to make money let alone become rich.

So who wouldn’t want to believe it could be possible to turn up at a seminar and feel they are at the door to wealth untold? It’s simply human nature to reckon that way. The keys to unlock the chest of wealth comes when you understand you absolutely must do whatever it takes you to find out what and how you will put into operation what you have learned.

Often the material you are presented with or acquire simply will not even cannot give you this vital piece of the jig saw puzzle. The reason is because you are, we all are different. You must work out just how to walk in your own shoes whilst following in someone else’s footsteps.

I hope this helps.
